Check the comments on this question. There are two linked DBA.SE questions there:

However, only the first shows up in the "Linked Questions" side bar.

Is this a bug?

I am referring to this post for expected behavior. It states:

It’s important to note that these links are bi-directional — that is, if another question links to this one, the link will be listed on both questions.

The Linked section only updates when an event occurs, but only certain kinds of events. These would be new posts, revisions to posts, and new comments. Editing a link into or out of a comment, for example, would not change the Linked section. The auto-comment generated from the close vote did not count as such an event. The Community revision on a successful closure, however, probably would properly append the link into the Linked section.

I see. So did you (or Chernoff) somehow bump the thread so the link shows up now all of a sudden? I don't see any activity on it since the 21st. –  Nick Chammas Oct 26 '11 at 17:06
Also, to answer the root of the issue, do you think auto-comments should trigger updates to the Linked section? –  Nick Chammas Oct 26 '11 at 17:07
@Nick I cheated it, I won't say how because that's jcole's assignment to figure out. ♪ As for whether they should... I'm not sure yet. There's arguments in both directions. –  Grace Note Oct 26 '11 at 17:15
Word. Can we add the auto-comment caveat into this feature's documentation for future seekers of truth and goodness? –  Nick Chammas Oct 26 '11 at 17:21

Eh, my suggestion to edit this answer into the mSO post describing the Linked section got rejected. –  Nick Chammas Oct 26 '11 at 21:19
